Genesis & Joshua were referred to us by Joshua’s mother, Mary. Mary had been a long time customer of my family’s florist, Haas Florist, where her son, Richie had interned. I was so happy to be working with them now.
Genesis and Joshua planned one gorgeous wedding. They got married on a gorgeous September day right alongside the water at Marina Del Rey in Throgs Neck, NY. Their beach theme wedding really came to life with all of the details they had planned. It also helped that Genesis was extremely organized, she knew exactly what she wanted for her wedding day, seashells and calla lilies paired so well together.
Her bouquet was stunning, if I say so myself. 🙂 The bride provided me an inspiration picture of how she wanted her bouquet to look and we designed a gorgeous cascading style bouquet with all white elegant calla lilies and roses along with mixed greenery. Her groom wore a calla lily accented with a loop of bear grass.
To carry out their beach themed wedding, the bridesmaids carried hand tied bouquets of baby’s breathe and white roses elegantly wrapped with a spa colored satin ribbon. The groomsmen sported mini white roses wrapped in the same color satin ribbon as the bridesmaids. Oh my, the flower girl, we can’t forget about her, she wore an adorable floral crown of baby’s breath, mini roses and we enhanced it with some seashells.
I was so excited to decorate their reception. One of my favorite flowers, the calla lily was to be seen everywhere. The happy couple have some great taste in flowers. They decided to do half high and half low centerpieces throughout their reception. The low centerpieces were designed in a sleek cylinder vase with seashells placed at the bottom. The vase had a gorgeous selection of white mini calla lilies and bear grass radiating out of the vase. As for the high centerpieces, these were so elegant. The tall cylinder vases were striking with large white calla lilies, bear grass and to give it a more tropical beach look we added curly willow branches.
The bride and grooms table had flowers draping down the front, we even added starfish for a nice little detail. Overall, this wedding was a beautiful beach themed wedding at a perfect spot to tie it all together, Marina Del Rey.
