A Crows Nest wedding in Montauk offers the perfect blend of coastal elegance and romantic charm. For Holly and Dave, celebrating their Crows Nest wedding at the start of June felt deeply personal—out east had long been one of their favorite escapes, making The Crow’s Nest the ideal place to celebrate their marriage along the shores of Lake Montauk.
Despite a steady rainy forecast, their day unfolded in the most romantic way—calm, emotional, and full of intentional moments that made it unforgettable.
Getting Ready at the Crow's Nest Wedding Venue
The morning began in the private cottages on The Crow’s Nest property, where Holly and her bridesmaids prepared for the day surrounded by soft natural light and views of the water. Each bridesmaid wore a different style gown in soft shades of pink and yellow, adding a playful garden-party feel to the overall aesthetic.
Holly’s ceremony look featured an A-line gown with a fitted bodice and a stunning shawl—an elegant statement piece that moved beautifully in the coastal breeze. Dave wore a timeless linen suit, perfectly coordinated with his groomsmen for a relaxed yet polished look that suited the Montauk setting.
A Rain-Kissed Ceremony at This Crows Nest Wedding
As guests arrived at the waterfront ceremony site, a gentle rain began to fall—creating a cinematic and intimate atmosphere. Umbrellas were shared by everyone in attendance, including Holly and Dave, transforming what could have been an inconvenience into one of the most romantic moments of the day.
Holly walked down the aisle carrying a bouquet featuring poppies, peonies, garden roses, and ranunculus in shades of yellow, white, and soft blue. As she made her way toward Dave, meadow-style aisle arrangements lined every other row to evoke the feeling of flowers naturally growing along the lakeside landscape before she reached the grounded floral arch that framed the couple as they exchanged vows.
A fresh palette of soft yellows and crisp whites with touches of light blue complemented the coastal surroundings. Her bridesmaids followed carrying a single bloom pulled from Holly’s bouquet recipe, creating a refined and cohesive look that added gentle movement and color throughout the ceremony. Dave’s groomsmen wore coordinating linen suits accented with ranunculus boutonnieres, creating a relaxed yet polished aesthetic suited for the Montauk setting.
While I waited nearby for the ceremony to conclude so our team could begin repurposing the aisle flowers for the tent entrance, I had the chance to listen to Holly and Dave’s vows. They were heartfelt, emotional, and beautifully written—I can’t say I didn’t shed a tear.
As the ceremony concluded, the rain softened and the skies began to clear—welcoming guests into the next portion of the celebration.
Cocktail Hour on the Hill
Following the ceremony, guests were greeted at cocktail hour just steps away overlooking the water. Small arrangements in soft yellows and whites accented each cocktail table, creating a seamless continuation of the ceremony design while guests enjoyed an assortment of seasonal food and drinks.
Reception Inside the Restaurant
Dinner took place inside The Crow’s Nest restaurant, where the space was transformed into a warm and romantic dining environment. Overhead greenery installations created a lush canopy effect, setting the tone for an intimate family-style meal.
Three dining tables were planked with centerpieces and beautiful bud vases filled with garden roses and delphinium, alongside other blooms featured throughout the day including ranunculus and peonies. Taper candles and votive candles were placed throughout, creating a soft glow that allowed the yellow, white, and light blue palette to gently carry through the reception space.
Dancing Under the Tent
Ceremony flowers were thoughtfully repurposed to the front entrance of the tent for dancing, creating a romantic floral-lined pathway that welcomed guests into the next phase of the evening’s celebration.
After dinner, guests made their way down the hill to the tent for dancing. Our team repurposed select ceremony florals to create a welcoming, flower-lined entrance into the space.
It was here that Holly changed into her second look, instantly shifting the energy of the evening into celebration as music filled the tent and guests danced the night away.
A Bouquet Surprise
One of the most meaningful moments of the day came just before the ceremony when we presented Holly with her bouquet. She had hoped for poppies—flowers that can often be unpredictable and difficult to source. Being able to surprise her with a few delicate stems tucked into her bouquet made the moment unforgettable.
